Andrew No Match For Coral Castle - Newspaper Clipping

Below is a clipping from the newspaper "The Hour" published on September 24 1992. It is titled "Andrew No Match For Coral Castle". Who is Andrew? Hurricane Andrew! In August 1992, hurricane Andrew more popularly known as the ‘costliest hurricane in US history’ hit Homestead Florida with a vengeance. The entire city was devastated and almost all man-made structures were flattened to the ground. However, Coral Castle was barely touched. A blow-horn attached on top of the 3 ton gate had blown away and several trees had fallen down, but Ed’s megalithic castle was intact.

What’s more interesting, when the Government realized Coral Castle was indestructible, they immediately put it to use - they stationed their battalion in the castle to cleanup and rebuild the area.  They recognized this was the safest place in the city and officials made it their temporary quarters. I think it is safe to say Coral Castle will remain forever, unlike modern buildings built with "state-of-the-art" technology.

Newspaper Clipping gives strange details about Coral Castle and Edward Leedskalnin

Below is a clipping from the newspaper "Reading Eagle" published on May 30, 1974. It is titled  "Coral Castle - Very Weighty Work" with the subtitle (or supertitle?) "Lifetime Labor for Recluse". The most interesting part of this article is that it says ""Leedskalnin checks some of his handmade equipment (bottom photo) which he used to lift and put in place huge coral rocks which he had also carved by hand". The bottom photo shows Ed spinning his flywheel. Did Ed use the flywheel to construct Coral Castle? The newspaper also refers to the big crescent on top of the north wall as "The Crescent of the East". What does it mean?

Below is an article from the newspaper "Sarasota Herald-Tribune" published on March 15, 1983. It is titled "Monument To A Lost Love Still Stumping Engineers". The article says "His (Ed's) travels took him to Canada and later to California and Texas. A touch of tuberculosis brought him to Florida around 1918". Paranormal Activity in Coral Castle - Edward Leedskalnin's Spirit Haunting?

This is a clipping from a newspaper called "Ocala Star Banner" published on October 2, 2007. It has some interesting information: Paranormal activity on Coral Castle. Quite a few people have seen apparitions, orbs and heard whispering voices in this mysterious place. There have been many ghost hunting expeditions at Coral Castle and it is only increasing. Some people say Ed was a devil worshiper, which is why he carved the alien like sculpture. Some have even claimed that they has seen the ghost of Edward Leedskalnin himself, perched up on the large crescent moon on the north wall. Edward Leedskalnin wanted to be buried inside Coral Castle, but the city of homestead did not permit it, so he was buried in Miami instead. Is it possible that Ed's unsatisfied spirit still haunts Coral Castle?
